Protect the trip. Protect the people in it.
You've saved for this journey and cleared your calendar for it. A little protection means an unexpected illness, a delayed flight, or a family emergency doesn't also become a financial one.
The three questions I ask every traveler.
Could you comfortably absorb the loss if this trip were cancelled tomorrow? Would your health insurance cover you where you're going? Do you know what a medical evacuation actually costs? If any answer gives you pause, we should talk about protection.
Benefits in plain language.

Travel protection questions
Filter by what you're actually worried about, then jump straight to the providers whose plans address it.
- Isn't travel insurance just an upsell?
- It isn't, and I'd rather you hear the honest version: for a weekend drive, probably skip it. For a $12,000 safari, a cruise with non-refundable deposits, or any international trip involving medical risk, it's one of the smartest purchases you'll make.
- Doesn't my credit card already cover this?
- Some cards offer limited trip delay or baggage protection. Very few provide meaningful emergency medical or evacuation coverage. Read your benefits guide — I'm happy to review it with you.
- What is 'Cancel For Any Reason'?
- An optional upgrade that reimburses a percentage of your costs if you cancel for a reason a standard policy wouldn't cover. It must usually be purchased within a short window after your first deposit.
- When should I buy it?
- Right after your first deposit. Early purchase preserves time-sensitive benefits like pre-existing condition waivers and Cancel For Any Reason.
- Are pre-existing conditions covered?
- They can be, through a waiver — but almost always only if you purchase within a set number of days of your initial trip payment. This is the deadline travelers miss most often.
- What does a medical evacuation actually cost?
- Air ambulance transport commonly runs $25,000–$100,000+ depending on distance and care level, and it is almost never covered by domestic health plans abroad. This is the single biggest reason to carry coverage.
- What counts as a covered cancellation reason?
- Typically illness or injury to you, a traveling companion, or a family member; death; certain severe weather or natural disaster events; jury duty; and some job-loss scenarios. Anything outside that list needs Cancel For Any Reason.
- How much of my money comes back with Cancel For Any Reason?
- Usually 50–75% of insured, non-refundable trip costs, and you generally must cancel at least 48 hours before departure. It costs more than a standard plan, but it's the only true flexibility option.
- Can you help me choose a plan?
- Yes. I'll walk you through options side by side, explain what each one really covers, and never pressure you toward the priciest plan.
